Fairy Tale Wedding

I’ve been fortunate to have some great friends in the Colorado photographic community and often this has led to me being involved in a wide variety of projects through these friends that I otherwise wouldn’t be a part of.  Sometimes it’s a all girl bootlegger card game shoot for a coffee table book or working on story images for a childrens book.  This time it was capturing a fairy tale unfold.

Dain of “Photography by Dain”  is an old friend who I’ve worked with for years before retiring from the IT world.  Besides being a tech guru he’s also an amazing wedding photographer.  So when he asked me to assist him on an upcoming wedding I accepted on the spot.  When I found out more about the wedding plans I realized just how fortunate I was to have such friends.

Sam was the perfect prince charming.  Young, handsome, and surrounded by his loyal knights.   Sara a beautiful princess with her ladies in waiting.

The dragon of this story was an auto accident that Sara was in just a month prior.  One of those accidents that make people comment on how lucky she was to still be here.

So we have the perfect prince and princess, could they celebrate their wedding day in anything less than a castle.

Dunafon Castle was the perfect location for this day.  Nestled in a mountain valley west of town I was amazed to learn of it’s very existence.  I used to live not 10 miles from there and have driven past it hundreds of time but never saw it hidden away.

A few of my shots from the day are below.  Over on Dain’s blog (www . photographybydain . com / blog) there is even a more impressive show where he’s taken the images from the both of us to thread into a combined tapestry of the day.

If you’re looking for a wedding photographer and I’m not quite the style your looking for – check out Photography by Dain.  I’ve always loved his work and after seeing him in action I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Until next time,

Mark
