Wei and Vicky’s Engagement Celebration

Most of the time when a wedding photographer does an engagement session with a couple it’s an afternoon shooting with the two of them coming up with some cute pictures somewhere.  When Wei and Vicky contacted they explained this might be a little different than what I was used to.   The celebration would start at their church, the family would offer words of advice and best wishes, starting with the eldest from each side and working towards the youngest, and then a celebration lunch.   Oh and most everybody would be speaking in chinese.   Fortunately the time spent with them and their families reinforced the fact that family bonds, humor, tears of joy, and love transcend all language and are part of the human experience.
