Evergreen Wedding Industry Meeting

As a wedding photographer in Denver Colorado I often get the privilege to work and network with some amazing wedding vendors around the state.  Last week I got to attend a get together of the Evergreen Wedding Industry vendors.   While not based out of Evergreen, it’s been about 20 or more years since I lived up there, I do so much with with Annie at Dunafon Castle that I was able to get an invite to come up, say hi, and network a bit.

Evergreen is a beautiful community and just about 20 minutes outside of Denver.   Close enough for easy drive times yet all the beauty of the mountains for a backdrop.

So I wanted to take a minute and give a little shout out to some of the wonderful vendors I met and thank them for their hospitality.

First and foremost the amazingly talented Emily Lenich of Particulars Wedding and Event Planning who organized the meeting.   While I’ve chatted with Emily from time to time on twitter this was the first time I’d had the chance to meet her in person – that along was well worth the trip up to Evergreen.

A few other photographers where in attendance as well.

Laura Dombrowski and wonderful Denver based photographer made the trip up as well.  While Laura is putting a low limit on the amount of weddings she photographs this year she’s filling that free time with her new project, Couture Colorado, a wedding blog specifically for high end Colorado brides.  I think the “Real Colorado Wedding” segments will prove to be immensely popular with local brides as this blog continues to grow and mature.

I guess it’s only fitting that for a Evergreen Wedding Industry meeting it was fitting that at least one Evergreen photographer was there as well, the lovely and talented Julie Sharber of Sharber Photography had the honors of the one local photographer in attendance and it was a pleasure to meet her.

Of course despite the fact she wasn’t in attendance due to a conference out of town I can’t talk about Evergreen Photographers without giving a shout out to Erin Cady of Art and Soul Photography.  Erin is an wonderful person, accomplished photographer and someone I’m pleased to call my friend.

Some of the other vendors in attendance:

Susan Hammond of Endless Travel to help people plan those wonderful honeymoons.

A Charter Company – wedding transportation specialists.

Julie Sims of Studio J Jewelry

Nicky Craggs of Alpine Ridge Salon & Day Spa.  The perfect place for the bride and brides maids to get their hair and makeup done.

Now wedding is complete without flowers and this area was well represented with
Stems – A Flower Shop at the Lake  and
Fleur de Liz (Love that name).

Of course a good DJ and make (or break) the reception.
Great Time DJ’s
and Evergreen DJ

Highland Haven – an amazingly romantic bed and breakfast.

ASF Catering for your catering needs.

and of course Dunafon Castle as one of Colorado’s most striking venues.

And finally a big thank you to Monika Wood with the Quality Suites for providing the meeting space and the refreshments for the meeting.

Until next time,

Mark
