Friday Favorites – A father’s love

My favorite shots from any wedding are those that capture those fleeting moments that are often overlooked by some photographers, those moments that capture the real emotion of the day.    While much of the day is focused on the bride and groom I find I’m always looking around the edges of what’s going on as well.

Here a father quietly arrives and stands in the doorway watching his daughter don her veil on her wedding day.   The look of love and pride says it all, his little baby girl is grown up and getting married today.   Had I missed him out of the corner of my eye the young bride would have never seen this moment.

It’s these moments that I like to think will bring people right back to this moment emotionally when looking at these images ten and twenty years from now.   Simple, unposed, and real emotion.
