Several times each year Dunafon Castle hosts a reception for clients who either have booked or are thinking of booking the castle for their wedding venue and they invite a handful for their favorite vendors to attend as well.
Being one of their top featured photographers I attend these events on a regular basis, but this time it was also my honor to share the “photographers stage” with the charming Erin Cady of Art & Soul Photography. Besides being a wonderful photographer Erin has become a good friend (and wonderful supporter of my weight loss and healthy living journey) over the last several years.
Fresh Tracks Foods and Catering provided the amazing food for the evening. Since I have been watching what I eat lately the walnut and strawberry salad was a wonderful addition to the menu. Probably not so good for the diet was the Chocolate Pot de Creme, which did qualify under my rules for eating something high calorie and/or fattening. The rule is simple, if I’m going to spend the calories on it, well it has to taste amazing, and it tasted beyond amazing – truly diet breaking worthy.
Fleur de Liz brightened up the day with some wonderful flowers – added some striking color against the stoney grey of the castle walls.
Erik of Greatime DJ provided the reception with the spark of energy and liveliness that comes form a great DJ.
The ever lovely Amy from Spalon to talk about some of their wedding services for brides at Dunafon. With options for having makeup/hair done at either their Spa/salon in Golden or on location at the castle they certainly are a vendor for every bride to consider.
One of my favorite new vendors to Dunafon this year is Scot Conti and Bamboo Booth. Bamboo Booth is a new style of photo booth, not as big (and sometimes gaudy) as some photo booths and with open sides for this really big group shots, yet since the person in the photo holds the remote to the camera it still preserves that “self portrait” feel and goofiness that people have come to love. Of course there’s nothing quite as goofy as a pair of photographers in front of a camera – but I opted to share on of the less goofy shots of Erin and myself today – but the rest might show up later this week or you can always go to the Bamboo Booth site and look at the Dunafon images under Events.
If there was any downside it was the brief, but intense, afternoon rain it seems the region has been stuck with the last few weeks. But it cleared quick enough and didn’t deter guests from exploring the grounds or even practicing their first dance under the gazebo.
