This site, like myself, has largely been retired.   To see what I'm up to currently visit

Mark’s Miscellaneous Monday – 2 Cellos and Anniversary – Dunafon in Bloom – Facebook Business – Pinterest

I know a lot of my summer brides who have their wedding up at Dunafon Castle must be wondering what the site is looking like and I’ve been up there twice in the last few weeks for client meetings and walk throughs – and I can tell you it’s looking wonderful.   The water wheel is spinning, the Dunafon’s flower garden is starting to bloom and those grey shots of the winter open house events have been replaced with spring greens.

Here’s a few shots I snapped with the X100 on my last visit up there.

I don’t often make mention of the anniversaries of my clients, but Angie and Jason are special and it was a year ago today I had the pleasure and extreme privilege to document their wedding day.   I saw Angie this last weekend at a mutual friends house warming party – and it was great to see the love for Jason in her eyes when talking about their first year together and anniversary.

So in honor of their anniversary I wanted to share this unique cover of the song they played during their entrance into the reception – the classical instruments makes it a bit classier version – but no less rocking.

Seriously, any wedding I get to document wonderful emotion and rock out to AC/DC is an awesome wedding for me. 🙂

For those who haven’t seen the Facebook business page yet – got take a peek. This, along with the blog, is where I’m going to start showing early sneak peeks of wedding images. The great thing is if you just like the business page, you can tag yourself in the photos to have them show up on your profile – which is good because I don’t like to tag photos myself – I’d rather the client make that decision.

There’s a lot of debate about Pinterest in the photographer community right now – we’re touchy about our images and since it makes it so easy to link to images – it’s at the very least a good topic of discussion and debate no matter what you think of it.

Personally I’m testing the waters, I figure 3 years ago a lot of photographers where debating Facebook, and two years before that blogs.

One think I do like is following the pins of some of my clients (i.e. brides because I don’t think ANY of my grooms are on there). When I see stuff they are using for inspiration it gives me ideas ahead of time about what to expect and what they like. It’s just a little thing that gives me a little more insight into their day and how they want to remember it.

Have a great Monday everybody.
