Every once in a while a wedding comes along where everything just clicks perfectly. Amazing couple, awe inspiring venue, friends and family wonderful to work with, and other vendors doing their best to make the day special. Add to that a somewhat relaxed schedule giving a little extra time to work on a few extra photo projects and you’ve got something wonderful, and Mark and Melody’s wedding was all that and more.
One of the special projects involved a drive down from the ranch into town for a quick beer at a local saloon. The new Fuji X100s did an amazing job of letting me tell this part of the days story in a photojournalistic style way. As much as I adore some of my old film cameras when it comes to the photojournalism shots – the Fuji X lineup is hard to beat.
One of the other fun projects was doing some film work with a medium format Rollieflex 2.8E. Not too shabby for something made in 1958. Makes me wonder if my Canon dSLR’s will still be providing useful images in 2070.
