Think Tank Airport Security 2.0

For the longest time when photographing weddings in the Denver area and all over Colorado I’ve had to deal with multiple bags just to get all my gear there.   My backpack camera case would hold the bodies and lenses, but no lighting gear so it was a second back for that and then of…

Mark – in my search for a new rolling bag, I came across your blog and your review for the TT AS 2.0. What really is sealing the deal for me compared to others, is the ability to have a 70-200 2.8 on end, instead of laying down. When i compare that to a bag like the Lowepro x200, it’s a no brainier. Thanks for the review!

Mark’s Misc Monday – Bludomain adds a mini-blog

One thing many flash template photography websites have taken some heat for is their lack of built in blogs. So you have this pretty flash site, but your blog is on another site instead of just in it’s own blog sub-directory. Well Bludomain, one of the photo industries leading flash based template hosts, has recently…

SEO for Wedding Photographers

SEO is  the current big buzzword in the photography industry.  For those who have no idea  what I just said, SEO stand for Search Engine Optimization and pretty much it’s how Google and the other major search engines determines what results you’ll see first when you type in a search.  And in the service industry…

Hey Mark,
Thanks for the props…I’m looking forward to hearing if you are right on the $2k workshop…my feelings exactly. While there is TONS more to know and apply with SEO (and your blog in general…SEO gets your visitors to your site, what happens next is a whole ‘nother story) There is only so much we have time to apply and use.

Spot on about this, buddy! There is no magic bullet and it does take time.

You’re also right about information being available online! Theoretically, I can study to be a brain surgeon online, but I’d rather pay to learn from a true professional (someone with proven results).

I would pay to learn from J.Claire or J* even though I take pretty rockin’ images. That’s just my perspective :)

Cheers,

L

I don’t think I’ve ever dropped names before in a blog and have both of them swing by and leave comments before, and I think they both make their points.

Some people have more financial resources than they have time. If you’re running a busy business you might not have time to research, test results, refine, etc.

Some people don’t have a lot of spare change but they’ve got plenty of spare time on their hands. There’s a wealth of information out there just waiting to be digested, it might not get you all the answers but it will get you a huge head start.

Eric’s answer is the perfect choice for some, Lawrence’s is the perfect fit for others. What’s great is that with something as important as this is in business today is that there is more than a single choice. There are options.

I think all three of you have valid points and I do agree with all three. Thanks to all of you for putting it out there, it helps that you guys are willing to share this information with everyone. It isn’t easy and it does take time but it helps to have people who have good information and a proven system. Thanks guys!

Niche Targeted Backinks - December 14, 2010 - 12:42 am

While we are taking on the topic of Denver Wedding Photographer – Mark Hayes | SEO for Wedding Photographers, Naturally the higher the Page Rank the harder it will be to get a backlink. But think of it this way. You are able to spends days making 20 low quality backlinks on PR 1 sites, or you could spend these same days creating 1 quality backlink on a PR 5 website. You invest the exact same amount of time, but the PR 5 backlink is worth a good deal more then the 20 PR 1 backlinks.

Thursdays Tips – What's really on that disc of images

The digital world is all around us and over the last few years it’s had an immense impact on how we live our lives and how we manage our business.   The world or wedding photography has virtually been torn apart and put back together, sometimes haphazardly over these last few years. Ten years ago…
